Chess Zone is for all ages and playing strengths. We run different events including, but not limited to, tournaments, simuls, classes, clubs, and camps. We’re thrilled to have this outlet by which to serve the chess community and will keep this page updated with our coming events.

Chess Zone Manic Monday Blitz G/5+2
This tournament will recur bi-weekly * tentative & subject to change.
Seven rounds, Swiss System, USCF rated (blitz rated)
REGISTRATION LIST
Place Prizes: 1st Place – $120; 2nd Place – $60; 3rd Place – $40; 4th Place – $20
Class Prizes: Top: 1600-1799 – $20; Top 1000-1599 – $20; Top under 1000: $20
All players’ official ratings will be used per the USCF rating supplement for the tournament month. Higher of USCF standard and blitz ratings will be used for pairings and prizes. Prizes based on 30 registrations. Class prizes based on ratings as described above. Unrated players eligible only for place prizes. USChess membership required to register. Obtain one here
Time Control: G/5; inc. 2; USCF blitz rated.
Entry Fee: $20.00 if pre-registered; $25.00 at the site. The field is limited to the first 30 registrants.
Schedule: Pre-registration closes at 7:00 pm. On-site registration ends at 7:20 pm. All players, including pre-registrants, must check in by 7:20 pm to play in round 1; please call/text if going to be late.
Rounds: Round 1 starts at 7:30 PM; rounds 2-7 immediately after. The last round should start at approximately 9:30 PM.
1/2-Pt. Byes: Available, limit three. Must request1/2-point byes before round 1 begins. 0-point byes are available at any time for any round.

1/2-Pt. Byes: Available for Rounds 1 thru 7 (limit three) — must request 1/2-pt. byes before Round 1 begins. 0-pt. bye available any round.
Notes: To estimate player performance, if available please provide a rating in registration notes (USCF or online such as chess.com or lichess.org). For example, ‘1200 chess.com rapid’.

Free Play Thursdays
Every Thursday night from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

- Every week – play vs. a rated coach! A rated USCF chess coach will be available from 7 PM to 9 PM and can play up to 12 people at once. This is a great way to learn and improve your game.
- Bi-weekly – free unrated Blitz Tournament!
